Renowned Spanish artists Señor Serrano and Laura Alvarez at this year's San Vincenti Festival!

Among numerous international artists who will show their works at this year's festival, Agrupación Señor Serrano deserves a special mention since it is the third time they have entered the festival's selection.

This year, they will present Birdie – a multimedia performance with live video, objects, Hitchcock’s The Birds revisited, scale models, 2000 mini animals, wars, smugglers, a massive migration and three performers handling this messy world with wit, criticism and commitment to humankind.

Founded by Àlex Serrano in Barcelona in 2006, Agrupación Señor Serrano is a theatre Company that creates original productions based on stories drawn from contemporary times. The Company uses the richness of innovative and vintage tools to extend the boundaries of its theater, blending stage performance, text, video, sound, and scale models into stage stories about discordant aspects of today’s human experience. In 2015, Agrupación Señor Serrano was awarded the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale . In addition to this recognition, the company has won national and international awards and has received rave reviews around the world.

Laura Aris Alvarez, a renowned Spanish dancer and choreographer, is coming with two choreographies (Open Wound and Cualquier Mañana) and one workshop (Power Sources, intended for both professional dancers and dancers with basic dance knowledge). Open Wound is part of a series of solos entitled MicroActions, while Cualquier Mañana is an intimate duet about the natural sadness of broken things, which was created as the result of collaboration with Alvaro Esteban in a project entitled „The Anatomy of Broken Things“.

Laura Aris Alvarez danced in the renowned Belgium dance Company Wim Vandekeybus/Ultima Vez for 10 years. Before that she was in the Spanish dance company Lanònima Imperial and worked with General Elèctrica artistic collective in several productions by Tomás Aragaya. For the past seven years she has been a freelance artist; she received the Lladró Award for the Outstanding Dancer at Festival de Valencia (ES), 1999.

The realization of guest performances and workshop by Laura Aris Alvarez were suported by Accion Cultural Espanola - program ACE/PICE.
