The latest choreography by young Spanish choreographer and dancer Emilio Gutierrez, created in cooperation with Zagreb Dance Ensemble, premiered in May 2001. The audience of the Festival of Dance and Non-verbal Theatre in San Vincenti had the chance to see his show Under the skin.
THE RUSH OF THE SOUL is a game of coincidence and unpredictable encounters of seven dancers in physically open space, but in fact in the imaginary space of a room, the walls of which reflect the thoughts and intents which condition the contacts between the participants. Tolerant, harmonious or conciliatory space of the participants can become too tight for their thoughts and desires, and harmony of relations can turn into an arena in which tripping and imputations condition new rules.
Uproarious long applause at the end of the performance, full house, humorous segments of the show accompanied by laughter, these are only some of the hints fulfilling the duty of a chronicler. Whenever Zagreb Dance Ensemble announces a premiere, it is a title that goes remembered for years.
