Fourth China-CEEC Summer Dance Camp - pedagogues / teachers


Sylwia Hefczyńska-Lewandowska (Poland) is a graduate of the Academy of Physical Education in Wrocław. As a dancer of the Silesian Dance Theatre in Bytom (since 1995) she has danced in all of the Theater's first-night performances, including the productions choreographed by the artistic director, Jacek Łumiński, and those created for the dancers by guest artists (Wendell Beavers, Henrietta Horn, Frank Handeler, Diane Elshout, Jay Hirabayashi and Barbara Bouqet). In the year 2000 she was awarded the title of the professional dancer by the Polish Artists’ Association, a distinction which is recognized by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. Apart from her dance career, she is also focused on education, teaching contemporary techniques and forms of dance theatre.

Her pedagogical achievements include a cooperation with the Academy of Physical Education in Wrocław, the State Ballet School in Bytom, the Dance Department of Swarthmore College (the USA), organizing classes and seminars as part of the New Series of Educational Workshops for Dance Teachers and Artistic Leaders, and the Higher School of Performance Arts in Bytom. She has been a teacher of the Polish Techniques of Contemporary Dance in the Dance Theatre Department of Ludwik Solski Academy of Theatre in Cracow. In 2007 she received the Mayor of Bytom Award for her activities in the field of culture, and a year later she obtained her PhD degree in Theatre Arts. An important part of her artistic and pedagogical activities are social projects implemented with people from excluded backgrounds.

Olga Žitluhina (Latvia) is a choreographer, dancer and teacher – the most influential personality in Latvian contemporary dance scene, head of a program of contemporary dance in Latvian Academy of Culture. She has been the artistic director of Olga Zitluhina Dance Company from 1996 to 2012. The company was the only professional contemporary dance group in Latvia for more than decade. Olga’s productions have been performed and she was teaching in China, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Lithuania, Macedonia, Mexico, Moldova, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, UK, USA. Since 2006 she is director of international contemporary dance festival “LAIKS DEJOT” in Riga. Olga Zitluhina's artistic life in numbers; 50 years – dancing / 37 years – choreographing / 37 years – teaching and sharing dance / 20 years teaching in the State Ballet school / 16 years – the director of contemporary dance department in Latvian academy of culture / 7 years as Professor / 10 years – the art director of LAIKS DEJOT, contemporary dance festival / 20 performances for her own company / 3 performances for Latvian National Ballet company / 2 performances for break dance company Camelot / 56 hours SOLO dancing in 2014 / 24 years – the official ALIEN / 18 countries performed and 2 times awarded as best contemporary dance performance in Latvia

Shi Bo (China) is a choreographer, a teacher, and a producer. His current functions include; director of the China-CEEC Dance Culture Union, organiser of the China-CEEC Summer Dance Camp, associate professor at the Beijing Dance Academy, visiting scholar to the US (2010 Talents of Art Program), visiting scholar at Peking University (2015).
Shi Bo has published papers and textbooks on Chinese classical dance of Han and Tang dynasties. His courses on Chinese classical dance are rated as National Quality Curriculum. His choreographic works include Tung Chueh Chi, Song of the Wind, Three Variations of Plum Blossoms, Ode to the Snow Lotus, and Freedom. He has performed in operas, dramas, Kunqu, movies, and TV series, such as Sleep on Brushwood and Taste Gall,The Wilderness, Princess Pearl, Confucius, Grand Worship Ceremony, and Two Belles in Love. He has also been invited to art festivals in the US, Canada, France, Morocco, and Japan.

Ding Lin (China) graduated at Beijing Dance Academy majoring in Chinese Classical Dance where today she is teaching. From 2009 she is teaching and assisting teachers in Fundamentals in Chinese Classical Dance and Sword Dance at Beijing Dance Academy, Fundamentals in Dancing in Beijing Shi Da Training Institute, New Chinese Classical Dance at The Chinese people's Liberation Army Academy of Arts and in an exchange program to America, Fundamentals in Chinese Classical Dance and New Chinese Classical Dance in an exchange program to Hong Kong etc. From 2005 to 2012 she has been dancing and performing in various dance pieces. She was awarded First Prize Scholarship (three consecutive years 2004-2006) and Outstanding Student Leader Award (two consecutive years). In 2007. she was awardedNational Scholarship, and in 2008. she was recognized as Outstanding Graduate of Beijing Colleges and Universities.

Tan Hao (China) holds a BA degree in Dance and MA degree of Fine Arts from Beijing Dance Academy. Currently he is director of the Department of Classical Dance at the Affiliated Middle School of Beijing Dance Academy and Deputy secretary general of the Professional Board on Chinese Classical Dance. Tan Hao is an awarded dancer (participating in the Beijing Dance Competition (first prize in choreography and performance) in 2009, choreographic work Songshan Chenqu (the Alba of Mount Song) won the the Excellence Award for Dance in the competition of literary and artistic works for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of China in 2009, participating twice in the Dance Competition of Northeastern China (first prize in choreography and performance respectively) in 2009 & 2012), besides that he has been tutoring students in the Chinese classical dance (his students won 4 first prizes, 3 second prizes and 3 third prizes!). He is also lecturing on Chinese classical dance and currently supervising of The Cradle, the first project of China-CEEC Dance Culture Union.

Martina Terzić (Croatia) is a Contemporary dance teacher and dancer. She finished formal education in Contemporary dance, starting at the age of 9 and graduating in September 2016 receiving a title Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary dance education at Academy of Art University of Zagreb. While working in Contemporary dance school she developed her teaching skills through dance education. She is working as an Art assistant in Dance department at the University of Dramatic Art, University of Zagreb and her profiling domain is Methodology in Contemporary dance technique. As an independent performer she collaborated with Jasna Čižmek Tarbuk, Vuk Ognjenović, Nastasja Štefanić, Petra Blašković and Dubravka Crnojević – Carić in many variations of dance pieces and drama plays. Her dance style developed under the influence of Croatian and foreign Dance pedagogues such as Petra Hrašćanec, Nikolina Pristaš, Irma Omerzo, Ana Mrak, Joan van der Mast, Guy Nader, Milan Tomašik, Arnulfo Ravagli, Blenard Azizaj and others.

Martina Tomić (Croatia) - her dance education started at Zagreb Youth Theatre and continues on various workshops for contemporary dance in Croatia and abroad:(Berlin, Deltebre Dansa, Pula Liberdance, Impulstanz…). She participates in many dance productions and performances with various choreographers ( Jasna L.Vinovrški, Ana Kreitmeyer, Francesco Scavetta, Isabele Schad, Petra Hrascanec, Irma Omerzo, Snježana Abramović, Renata Gatica Carola, Natalija Manojlović, Sanja Tropp Fruhwald…), ensembles and independent productions such as Studio for contemporary dance, ZPA, Tala, Montažstroj, Eks scena, Liberdance, Art workshop Lazareti. She has finished 200th hours Yoga Teacher Tranning. From 2011. member of dance company Studio for contemporary dance. This year she is finishing BA Teaching department of Contemporary dance Academy of Dramatic Art in Zagreb. She has beed working as dancer, pedagouge and choreographer in contemporary dance filed.



Koviljka Marečić (Croatia) has been studying folk dancing in Croatia, Bulgaria and Italy for years. As an ethno-choreologist she considers dance as a form of human behaviour. Her interest moves from east european stage folklore dances to south italian revival of traditional dance forms. In 2014. she joins a project called Dance on Tavolac, a revival of dance event spread throughout north Istria in first half of 20th century. Her aim is to enrich the local folk scene being focused mainly on conducting workshops and performing traditional dances.



Dario Marušić (Croatia) spent his childhood in the North-Istrian countryside in direct contact with the Istrian traditional music. In high school he began to explore the Istrian music and dance, starting to collect the material, later published in numerous articles and three books. After the influence of the Folk revival movement he co-founded the legendary group Istranova. Marusic has participated in numerous research projects on fiddling, istrian pipe playing, traditional singing and dancing and he has an important role in the revitalizations of traditional groups, and generaly music and musical instruments of northern and central Istria. Presently, he performs as soloist, with his two groups La sedon salvadie and IstradMarusic, and engages in research, composing, teaching and conducting music and dance workshops. For the Croatian Ministry of Culture he has worked on the preparation of the “Istrian Ethnomusical Microcosm “, as the Croatian proposal for the UNESCO Proclamation of Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.



Branimir Šajina (Croatia) started dancing 20 years ago after joining in the local folklore group. After many years of performing the set choreographies of folk dances, he engages in researching the universal human values stored in a traditional dance forms which lead him to develop him own style of performing; as opposed to the performing to the outside, for the audience, he starts to perform for the inside, for his own pleasure of the movement. Switching this perspective, he is focused to the partnering proces in the folk dances, creating characters and sharing energies between the performers. He tends to minimalize the expression of the movement thus creating a simplified choreography opened to improvization of the performers.


Zoran Karlić (Croatia) is a singer and musician performing from 1998. using the traditional Istrian instruments; vele sopele, mih, sopelica, šurle, volarice, duple mišnjice and clarinet. From 2006. he is teaching musicians and singers of the local KUD Ivan Fonović Zlatela in Kršan, and in 2009. he became the director of the same organization. As a performer he joined a known ethno folk music band Šćike in 2010. and throughout his career he is commonly collaborating with folk, pop and rock musicians from Croatia. Karlić is also one of the members of Board of directors of Folklore Association of Istrian Region and from 2018. its vice-president. During 20 years he performed in most of the important ethno events in Croatia, and has represented Istrian traditional culture in France and Belgium. He is many times awarded for his great work concerning singing, playing and revitalizing the traditional culture of Istria.
